Be decent to people

• No bullying, harassment, threats, or piling on someone.
• No hate: nothing attacking people for their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or where they're from.
• Don't post someone's private information — addresses, phone numbers, private messages, photos of them they didn't agree to — without their permission.
• Don't pretend to be someone else, or another member.

Keep it safe

• Nothing sexual involving anyone under 18. Ever. We remove it, ban the account, and report it to the Internet Watch Foundation and the police.
• No pornography or sexually explicit images. samo is for people 13 and over.
• No graphic violence or gore, and nothing that encourages violence.
• Nothing that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you're struggling, you can call Samaritans free on 116 123, any time.
• Nothing illegal: no selling drugs or weapons, no scams, no terrorism content.

Only post what's yours to post

• Only upload pictures, music and other files you made or have permission to share.
• Using the site's search to pick an album, film, book or song for your page is fine — that's what it's for.
• If someone has used your work without permission, see Copyright & takedowns.

Don't spoil it

• No spam, advertising, or chain messages.
• No fake accounts, and don't sell or trade invites.
• Don't try to break, overload or get around how samo works (including blocks and bans).

If something's wrong

Use Report — it's on every page, comment, post, shelf and message — and an admin will look at it. We don't tell anyone who reported them. You can also Block User from someone's page: neither of you will be able to friend, message, comment on or find each other.

What happens if you break the rules

Depending on how serious it is, we might remove what you posted, warn you, or suspend or ban your account. Serious things — like anything involving children, or credible threats — mean an immediate ban and may be reported to the police. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@samo.world and we'll look again.

If you invite someone, you're vouching for them. Invites from people whose invitees keep breaking the rules may be taken away.
